Pharmacological Potential of Malvaceae family plant Abutilon indicum and Hibiscus mutabilis: A Comprehensive Review

Abstract
For centuries, plants from the mallow family (Malvaceae) have been used worldwide in traditional medicine to treat various conditions,including skin disorders, fertility issues, and as antiseptics and digestive aids. The therapeutic properties of these plants are likely attributed tobioactive components such as flavonoids, phenolic acids, and polysaccharides. This review aims to explore the pharmacological significance ofselect medicinal plants within the Malvaceae family, with a particular focus on Abutilon indicum and Hibiscus Mutabilis. Given the range ofpharmacological effects observed in these plants, they are promising subjects for further scientific investigation. This article offers a thoroughcompilation of existing research, contributing valuable insights for the development of new plant-based medicinal therapies.
